Playing Online Spanish Blackjack

If you’re a Spanish blackjack aficionado, you might be wondering if it’s worth playing online, or if you should stick to playing it in a brick and mortar casino. So I thought it might be helpful to compare the two so that your decision is a bit clearer. Below you’ll find the pros and cons to playing Spanish blackjack online.

Pros to Playing Spanish Blackjack Online

There are numerous reasons why you might decide to play Spanish blackjack online.

You don’t have to leave your house. Playing Spanish blackjack from home is such a huge convenience. You don’t have to get dressed, drive and depending on where the casino is, find a place to stay. This is my all-time favorite reason to play at home.

Spanish blackjack can be played online for free. Because of the little overhead that online casinos have compared to brick and mortar casinos, nearly all online casinos allow players to play their games free. In fact, many rooms will even have free games with cash money prizes (usually tournaments). This won’t apply to Spanish blackjack much, if at all, though.

Online casinos offer deposit bonuses. You won’t find deposit bonuses in a brick and mortar casino. At least not to the extent that you can get them online. Online you can have your deposits matched up to $1,000 or more free, so long as you meet their play through requirements.

More casinos to choose from, all a click away. Unless you’re in Las Vegas, Reno or Atlantic City (or similar), you won’t have the variety of casinos available to you as conveniently as you will online. Playing games online gives you the opportunity to simply fill in the URL of a site, signup and play elsewhere, all in a matter of minutes.

Avoid smoke filled casinos and crowds. I’m not a smoker, nor do I enjoy crowds. Staying homes means I get to avoid both. You also get to avoid lines, drunks and rude people.

Can play more than one game at a time. Playing online allows you to have several casinos open at once, which means you can play more than one game of Spanish blackjack. Not to mention that some casinos might allow you to play more than one hand per table.

You avoid the cost of traveling. Traveling can get expensive quick. Figure $400 for plane tickets, $150 night for a room and $50-$75+ per person, per day to eat. A week in a place like Las Vegas can set someone back $2,500, and that doesn’t include money to gamble with. I’d rather take that $2,500, buy some pizza, deposit $1,000 online and save the rest.

Cons to Playing Spanish Blackjack Online

There are some cons to playing Spanish blackjack online, too.

You miss out on the social aspect of playing live. If you’re a talkative person, one aspect that you miss out on is being able to sit around the table with other players and just chit chat, laugh and have a good time. There’s a “realness” to playing in a brick and mortar casino, too.

Online casinos are not regulated everywhere in the world. This can be a large risk, especially if you’re playing for real money from the USA. You’re going to have less recourse if something happens, such as the operator running off with your money. This isn’t nearly as likely to happen in a brick and mortar casino. In fact, it’s not even close.

You don’t get the experience playing online that you do by traveling to a brick and mortar casino, namely a spot like Las Vegas. When you stay at home to play you miss out on things like the buffets, shows, attractions and different themes that each casino has. And no matter how hard an online casino tries, the computer generated flashing lights and sirens will never be the same as in a brick and mortar casino.

Depending on where you live, playing Spanish blackjack online can be illegal. This will depend on the state you live in, but many states have made it illegal to gamble online. In some cases, such as Washington state, gambling online can even be a felony. Granted, no one has been caught, but that doesn’t mean you should position as the first person to be caught, either.

Banking online is difficult. If you gamble online from the USA, another problem that you might run into is banking. Getting your money online usually isn’t that big a deal (not surprising, is it), but getting your money back off the site can be just as fun as pulling teeth. Some casinos are so bad that it might take weeks before you see your withdrawals. You won’t have that problem in B&M casinos.

Well, at the end of the day it all comes down to preference. I’m a big fan of staying home and playing on my computer. However, if you’re the type of person who likes to be around other people, don’t mind the crowds and enjoy the buffets, then you might actually prefer to play live. Of course, there’s nothing wrong with doing both, either.
